Since we are launching the MAD collective this month, we wanted to explain the reasoning behind our Manifesto as well as talk about how we got here in the first place. What kind of circumstances called for us to come together and start this initiative in the first place?
We all met through Instagram of course. Alvin (ProjectsbyPeople) wanted to get all of us on a quick Zoom call to discuss a potential opportunity for us to come together and establish a collective. We each have our own strengths and niches within architecture itself. Each of us fairly new each other too, whether it was from direct collaborations or just general knowlege of some awesome pages.
What do we do?
When it came to discussing the medium for our shared content, we decided on monthly symposiums that would be appropriate and relatable for our audience. You guys. The word millenial is technically bound by birth years, but the general association refers to our generation, the younger professional and students. We wanted our audience to be able to engage and share their opinions on topics like stress or employment and create a discussion that could hopefully be of use to someone.
Our manifesto consists of the general goals we want to be achieving through our symposiums and other parts of the collective. Collaboration is key, whether it’s between the co-founders or with our community. Together, we have a huge reach and we believe that this will be our advantage when it comes to working with fellow content creators, students and professional in the field.
Our combined Creativity and strengths in various fields such as filming, video editing, public speaking, tutorials and many more will allow us to create useful and helpful content. We aim to touch on unspoken topics and controversial issues to get a dialogue going between each other.
Each of us come from different backgrounds (and countries) which will hopefully allow us to take this platform global and be able to identify similarities in architectural education or the differences in the importance of an architect. We will discuss our own opinions but also make sure that no one is unheard. Diversity is important to us. Every opinion counts, especially where future architects are concerned.
Collectively, this requires Innovation. We aren’t going to hold boring, long conversations, we’re going to be getting you involved by allowing you to take the stage, provide us feedback and let us know what topics you want us to cover. Our MAD Index is the go-to place for any kind of architecture resource. Want to learn Revit? Find blogs, YouTube channels and tutorials as well as links to useful resources all through our incredible database.
It doesn’t stop there either. We’re working with some incredible people to bring you guys much more. Let us know in the comments below what you would like to see, or get in touch via email if you would like to work with us on a project.
